Kym attended both private and public schools in Carlsbad were she has resided for the past 40 years. Graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Psychology, she was a special education teacher before her children Joey 13 and Brittany 11 were born. She also worked for the state Dept. of Rehabilitation helping to find and keep jobs for adults with developmental disabilities in their communities. She serves on several education advocacy committees throughout San Diego County. Another of her goals is to help her children realize their dream of climbing the seven summits. Not just for the sake of climbing them, but to help children in the seven continents in which they climb. PEAK-Boy, a non profit organization, looks to change the lives of other children through the efforts and awareness of PEAK-Boy donors with each climb.
